A Defensive Driving School Program

Course Development Structured For The Local Court Designed For Corporate Fleets

Course Development

The Highway Control Defensive Driving curriculum was developed from a crash prevention viewpoint. The director, Stephan M. Neese, is a retired police officer whose primary duty was investigating vehicle crashes. Since his retirement from the police force, he serves as a vehicle collision consultant in the field of accident reconstruction.

This vast experience has given him the background to truly analyze the numerous factors that cause a collision. As a result, he has seen the lack of defensive driving and how it results in collisions.

Another result of reconstructing vehicle crashes is identifying improper driver tactics to avoid a hazard. Since most drivers do not create a good driving strategy, they have not thought ahead on how to avoid a hazard when they come upon one.

This three-hour, classroom course is designed to help drivers develop a proper driving strategy and a true defensive driving attitude. It also reviews the basic vehicle laws and the different types of evasive maneuvers a driver has to avoid a collision. Special emphasis is placed on the seat belt and airbag restraint systems, child restraints and alcohol impaired driving
